Job summary

Driver Hire Lancaster is recruiting an HGV Class 1 Tramper for work out of Heysham, performing curtainside trailer collections from Heysham Port and general haulage duties across the UK. Typical runs include dock collections and nationwide deliveries with starts between 0600 and 0700.

The ideal candidate will hold a valid Class 1 licence, CPC and Digital Tachograph card, with about one year of Class 1 experience.

Qualifications

• Valid Class 1 licence and driving entitlement.
• CPC qualification and Digital Tachograph card required.
• Professional, reliable and customer-focused attitude.
• 1 year of HGV Class 1 experience due to insurance purposes.

Responsibilities

• Dock collections and general haulage deliveries.
• Nationwide travel.
• Minimal handball; focus on driving, not heavy lifting (Class 1).
• Daily vehicle safety checks.
• Represent the business professionally at delivery locations.
• Staying away from home up to 4 nights a week.
