Job summary

Driver Hire Lancaster is seeking HGV Class 1 Night Drivers to assist a client in the Heysham area with trunk runs. The role involves night shifts with starts around 19:30 and potential for ongoing work or temp-to-perm for the right driver.

Key duties include hub runs through the night (no daytime traffic), vehicle safety checks, and representing the business at delivery locations. No heavy lifting is required, and up to four nights may be spent away from home.

Qualifications

• Must hold a valid Class 1 driving entitlement and CPC qualification.
• Must have a Digital Tachograph card and keep records in line with legal rules.
• Professional, reliable, customer-focused attitude required.

Responsibilities

• Carry out hub/night trunk runs in the Heysham area.
• Perform daily vehicle safety checks and report any issues.
• Represent the business professionally at delivery points.
• Be prepared to stop out up to 4 nights per week.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Hub Runs through the night (no daytime traffic!)
• No Handball – focus on driving, not heavy lifting (Class 1)
• Carrying out daily vehicle safety checks
• Representing the business professionally at delivery locations
• Stopping out up to 4 nights a week

Approx 19:30pm Starts

Potential for ongoing work/ temp to perm for the right driver
