Job summary

We Are Workforce Ltd is recruiting for an HGV Class 1 Shunter Driver in Willenhall. The role is largely yard-based with occasional trunking, and Terberg training is provided. Shunting trailers, site checks and adherence to safety standards are daily duties. Flexible, weekend-ready candidates are welcome to apply.

Shift pattern includes Tuesday to Saturday, with day or night starts. Immediate start available and ongoing work in a well-established operation.

Qualifications

• Valid UK Class 1 (C+E) licence.
• Valid Driver CPC and Digital Tachograph Card.
• Shunting experience preferred; training for New Pass provided.

Responsibilities

• Safely move trailers between parking, loading bays, and dispatch areas.
• Carry out daily vehicle and equipment checks.
• Complete trailer audits and site compliance checks.
• Monitor and record trailer temperatures.
• Follow site procedures for hitching, unhitching, and reversing.
• Maintain a clean and safe working environment.
• Ensure tachograph and transport compliance requirements are met.
• Assist with depot-to-depot deliveries when required.
• Support site health & safety, environmental, and quality standards.
• Manage fuel deliveries and general yard operations.

HGV Class 1 Shunter Driver

We are currently recruiting forHGV Class 1 Shunter Driver to join a busy and fast-paced operation in Willenhall. This role is predominantly yard-based, involving the safe movement of trailers around site, with occasional trunking duties when required. - New Pass Welcome

Terberg training provided

Shift Pattern

Tuesday to Saturday

• Tuesday to Thursday: 18:00 starts
• Friday & Saturday: 14:00 starts
• Average 10-hour shifts

Pay Rates

Days

• Monday to Friday: £17.30 per hour
• Overtime after 47.5 hours: £19.46 per hour
• Saturday: £19.46 per hour
• Sunday & Bank Holidays: £25.95 per hour

Nights

• Monday to Friday: £19.77 per hour
• Overtime after 47.5 hours: £21.92 per hour
• Saturday: £21.92 per hour
• Sunday & Bank Holidays: £28.41 per hour

Only 30-minute unpaid break deducted per shift

Key Responsibilities

Requirements

• Previous shunting experience preferred, however training for New Passes provided
• Experienced Class 1 drivers will also be considered.
• Reliable, safety-conscious, and able to work independently.
• Strong communication skills and a positive attitude.
• Flexible and willing to work weekends.
