Job summary

Ethero Strategic Staffing is seeking a reliable HGV Class 1 (CE) Shunter Driver for a permanent day-shift role. You’ll shunt trailers on-site, move between loading bays, perform safety checks and work closely with transport and warehouse teams to keep operations smooth.

This is a home-daily, day-shift position with no nights out or long-distance driving. A safe, professional approach to driving and good communication are essential, with prior shunting experience welcomed but not required.

Qualifications

• A valid HGV Class 1 (CE) driving licence is essential.
• A valid Driver CPC and digital tachograph card are required.
• Safe, responsible and professional approach to driving.
• Good communication skills and a reliable attitude.
• Shunting experience is advantageous; willingness to learn welcome.

Responsibilities

• Shunt trailers safely around the site.
• Move trailers between loading bays and parking areas.
• Position vehicles and trailers as required.
• Carry out vehicle safety checks.
• Follow all site safety procedures.

We’re looking for a reliable and safety-conscious HGV Class 1 (CE) Shunter Driver to join our team on a permanent basis.

This is a great opportunity for a driver who prefers to be home every day, enjoys a practical, hands-on role and wants to get away from the stress of life on the open road.

Day work only - no nights out, no long-distance runs and, best of all, no traffic jams!

What You’ll Be Doing

• Shunting trailers safely around the site.
• Moving trailers between loading bays and designated parking areas.
• Positioning vehicles and trailers as required.
• Carrying out vehicle safety checks.
• Following all site safety procedures.
• Working closely with the transport and warehouse teams to keep operations running smoothly.

What We’re Looking For

• A valid HGV Class 1 (Category CE) driving licence.
• A valid Driver CPC and digital tachograph card, as applicable to the role.
• A safe, responsible and professional approach to driving.
• Good communication skills and a reliable attitude.
• Previous shunting experience would be an advantage, but relevant experience and a willingness to learn are welcome.
