Responsibilities

• Pull trailers between the depot and distribution hubs, ensuring timely collections and deliveries.
• Be responsible for the safe carriage of loads within the vehicle.
• Ensure freight is secured before journeys.
• Secure vehicles during transit and overnight stays.
• Vehicle must be locked when unattended.
• Follow SSOW and site rules at base and hub locations.
• Carry out daily vehicle checks and report defects promptly.
• Comply with driver hours, road transport and health and safety regulations.
• Maintain tachograph and drivers hours records and submit on time.
• Process goods in/out paperwork and maintain vehicle cleanliness.
• Verify contents against manifests and follow paperwork procedures.
• Maintain high professionalism and customer service.

Job description

We are currently seeking a professional and reliable HGV Class 1 Night Trunk Drivers to join our client's team based in Luton, providing a safe and secure night trunking service.

Responsibilities

• Pulling trailers between the depot and designated distribution hubs, ensuring all collections and deliveries are completed safely, efficiently, and on schedule.
• To be ultimately responsible for the safe carriage of the load within the vehicle.
• Ensuring all freight is sufficiently strapped and secured before commencement of any journey.
• To always be responsible for the security of the vehicles including in transit, stationary and if on overnight stays.
• The vehicle must always be locked and secured when unattended at any time.
• Adhering to all SSOW and site rules both at base and Network hub locations.
• Conduct daily vehicle checks and report any defects promptly.
• Comply with all driver hours, road transport, and health and safety regulations.
• To maintain all records relating to tachograph and drivers hours legislation and deliver to the transport office within set timescales.
• Completing the correct documentation when booking goods in and out.
• Maintaining vehicle cleanliness both inside and out on a regular basis.
• To ensure all company paperwork and procedures are followed correctly, Verifying the contents of collection and delivery against delivery/collection and returns paperwork or manifests.
• Maintain a high standard of professionalism and customer service.

Qualifications
