Job summary

Get Staff is recruiting for a General Haulage HGV Class 1 Night Trunk Driver based in Portsmouth. You will operate HGV Class 1 articulated vehicles across the UK and ensure paperwork and records are accurate, including hours and breaks in line with WTD regulations.

Requirements include a full UK driving licence, HGV1 (C+E), DP World Card and Digital Tachograph card, with up to 6 penalty points and at least 1 year of HGV1 experience. Night shifts available with immediate start.

Qualifications

• Full UK Driving Licence and HGV Class 1 (C+E) entitlement.
• DP World Card is required.
• Digital Tachograph card is required.
• Max 6 points on license and at least 1 year of HGV1 experience.
• Knowledge of WTD regulations and UK motorway network.

Responsibilities

• Operate HGV Class 1 vehicles for general haulage across the UK.
• Complete all paperwork and electronic records accurately.
• Maintain records of driver hours and breaks in line with WTD regulations.
• Comply with agency and client policies and safety standards.
• Communicate effectively with customers and operations teams to ensure smooth deliveries.

The Job

• Operate HGV Class 1 articulated vehicles for general haulage across the UK.
• Ensure all paperwork and electronic records are accurately completed and up to date.
• Maintain accurate records of breaks and working hours in line with Working Time Directive (WTD) regulations.
• Comply with all agency and client policies, procedures, and safety standards.
• Take full responsibility for the quality of work carried out, always ensuring professionalism.
• Communicate effectively with customers, clients, and operations teams to ensure smooth deliveries and collections.
• Complete all assigned tasks efficiently and within required timeframes.

Skills and Experience Required
