Job summary

PIVT Group Ltd in Warrington is seeking a reliable HGV Class 1 Night Driver to join our Warrington operation on a permanent, full-time basis. You will drive on a 12-hour night shift (11pm start) and handle cage-based deliveries, including double-deck trailers where required.

Responsibilities include unloading cages with tail-lift equipment, reloading for return, and maintaining all safety and driver compliance standards.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Safely operate Class 1 C+E vehicles in line with legal and client requirements.
• Complete daily vehicle checks and report defects promptly.

• Complete night deliveries to closed stores responsibly and independently.
• Manually unload cages and move them into store delivery areas.
• Reload empty cages onto the trailer for return.
• Operate fixed-deck and moving-deck double-deck trailers where required.
• Complete delivery paperwork, PODs and electronic records accurately and on time.
• Maintain compliance with Drivers Hours, Working Time Direction and tachograph rules.
• Communicate clearly with transport planners, site teams and customers.
• Represent our client professionally at all times.

HGV Class 1 Night Driver - Warrington

Salary: £50,020 per annum

Location: Warrington

Contract: Permanent, Full Time

Our client is seeking reliable and experienced Class 1 C+E Night Drivers to support their Warrington operation.

The role involves night driving on a 4-on-4-off shift pattern (12-hour shifts starting at 11pm, paid breaks). You will deliver to customer stores using trailers that may include double-deck operation (fixed deck and moving deck). Duties include completing store deliveries, unloading cages using tail-lift equipment, and reloading empty cages for return. Night deliveries are made to closed stores, so you must work responsibly and independently while following all site access, safety and security procedures.

This is a physically demanding role. You must be comfortable moving loaded and empty cages, using tail-lift equipment, and safely handling freight in line with manual handling procedures.

Essential Requirements

• Valid UK Class 1 C+E licence
• Valid Driver CPC qualification card
• Digital tachograph card
• Good understanding of Drivers Hours, WTD and road transport compliance
• Physically able to move cages and undertake manual handling throughout the shift
• Flexible approach to start times, shift patterns and customer requirements

Desirable

• Double-deck trailer experience (fixed and moving deck)
• Tail-lift experience
• Retail store delivery experience
• Experience with cage-based deliveries and collections
• Previous multi-drop Class 1 experience
