Job summary

Vanta Staffing Limited is recruiting a Class 1 Night Driver on behalf of our client for a permanent role. The position involves safe, professional deliveries and collections of palletised freight, mostly at night, with forklift-assisted loading/unloading and some manual handling.

You will work Monday to Friday, approximately 4:00pm–4:00am, 45 hours/week, earning £34,000–£37,000 per year. Full-time, permanent opportunity with CPC training provided by the client.

Qualifications

• Valid Class 1 (C+E) licence is required.
• Driver CPC qualification is required.
• Minimum 12 months Class 1 driving experience.
• Night driving experience is desirable but not essential.
• Good understanding of UK road transport regulations and Health & Safety.

Responsibilities

Class 1 Night Driver

Vanta Staffing is recruiting on behalf of our client for an experienced Class 1 Night Driver to join their transport operation on a permanent basis.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced HGV Class 1 driver who is comfortable working independently and enjoys regular night-time driving.

The Role

As a Class 1 Driver, you will be responsible for the safe and professional delivery and collection of palletised freight from partner depots.

The majority of loading and unloading will be carried out using forklift trucks, although there may also be some use of electric pallet trucks. The role can involve some physical work when completing certain deliveries.

Key Responsibilities

• Driving a Class 1 HGV to deliver and collect palletised freight.


• Completing deliveries and collections safely, efficiently and on time.


• Carrying out vehicle and load checks in accordance with company procedures.


• Working professionally with customers, pallet network partners and colleagues.


• Reporting any issues or concerns through the appropriate channels.


• Maintaining a professional appearance and representing the client positively at all times.


• Following all company and statutory Health & Safety requirements.


• Maintaining compliance with Driver CPC requirements and completing required training.


• Working effectively both independently and as part of a wider transport team.

Requirements

• Valid Class 1 (C+E) licence.

• Previous night-driving experience is desirable but not essential.


• Good understanding of UK road transport regulations and Health & Safety.


• Reliable, professional and safety-conscious approach.

• Physically capable of undertaking occasional manual handling duties.

Working Hours

• 45 hours per week


• Monday to Friday


• Shifts worked between approximately 4:00pm and 4:00am


• Includes a 1-hour unpaid break

Salary & Benefits

• £34,000 – £37,000 per annum, depending on experience


• 22 days' annual leave + 8 Bank Holidays


• Driver CPC training provided and paid for by the client
