Job summary

Pivt Group is seeking reliable Class 1 C+E Night Drivers for our Warrington operation. This role runs on a 4-on-4-off pattern with 12-hour night shifts starting at 11pm, including paid breaks.

You will deliver to customer stores using trailers that may include double-deck operation, and you’ll unload cages using tail-lift equipment and reload empties for return. The job is physically demanding; you must be comfortable with manual handling, moving cages, and working independently while following

Qualifications

• Valid UK Class 1 C+E licence and a digital tachograph card.
• Experience with night deliveries and 12-hour shifts.
• Ability to move cages and perform manual handling safely.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate Class 1 C+E vehicles in line with requirements.
• Complete daily vehicle checks and report defects promptly.
• Deliver cages into stores using tail-lift equipment.
• Perform night deliveries to closed stores independently.
• Unload and reload cages with safe handling and accuracy.
• Operate fixed-deck and moving-deck double-deck trailers when needed.
• Maintain delivery paperwork and comply with driver hours rules.

Job description

Our client is seeking reliable and experienced Class 1 C+E Night Drivers to support their Warrington operation.

The role involves night driving on a 4-on-4-off shift pattern (12-hour shifts starting at 11pm, paid breaks). You will deliver to customer stores using trailers that may include double-deck operation (fixed deck and moving deck). Duties include completing store deliveries, unloading cages using tail-lift equipment, and reloading empty cages for return. Night deliveries are made to closed stores, so you must work responsibly and independently while following all site access, safety and security procedures.

This is a physically demanding role. You must be comfortable moving loaded and empty cages, using tail-lift equipment, and safely handling freight in line with manual handling procedures.

Key Responsibilities

• Safely operate Class 1 C+E vehicles in line with legal, customer and client requirements
• Complete daily vehicle checks and report defects promptly
• Deliver cages into customer stores using tail-lift equipment where required
• Complete night deliveries to closed stores responsibly and independently
• Manually unload loaded cages and move them safely into store delivery areas
• Reload empty cages onto the trailer for return
• Operate fixed-deck and moving-deck double-deck trailers where required
• Complete all delivery paperwork, PODs and electronic records accurately and on time
• Maintain compliance with Drivers' Hours, Working Time Directive and tachograph rules
• Communicate clearly with transport planners, site teams and customers
• Represent our client professionally at all times
• Valid UK Class 1 C+E licence
• Digital tachograph card
• Good understanding of Drivers' Hours, WTD and road transport compliance
• Physically able to move cages and undertake manual handling throughout the shift
• Flexible approach to start times, shift patterns and customer requirements
• Double-deck trailer experience (fixed and moving deck)
• Experience with cage-based deliveries and collections
• Previous multi-drop Class 1 experience
