Job summary

Driver Hire Manchester is actively seeking HGV Class 1 Night Drivers for various shifts in and around Trafford Park and South Manchester. You will conduct depot-to-depot deliveries, manage trailer swaps, and follow transport team instructions to ensure on-time, safe deliveries.

The role starts around 1930 and finishes around 0600, offering full-time, contract, temporary, or part-time terms to suit you. Benefits include weekly PAYE payroll, company pension, and regular overtime opportunities.

Qualifications

• Valid CPC and Digital Tachograph card.
• Full UK Driving licence.
• Cat-C&E Licence held for 3 years.
• No more than 6 points (no DD/DR/IN/TT).

Responsibilities

• Depot to depot deliveries and trailer swaps.
• Maintain daily contact with Transport/Branch Managers.
• Secure loads and observe height restrictions and legal limits.
• Drive safely and in accordance with traffic laws.
• Complete paperwork accurately as instructed.

Role: HGV Class 1 Night Driver
Salary: £19.61 per hour including holiday pay (£17.50 with accrued holiday pay)
Location: South Manchester, Gorton Salford, Trafford Park, Urmston, Irlam and Carrington
Work Pattern: Full time, contract, temporary, or part-time to suit, typically starting around 1930 and finishing around 0600am.

Driver Hire, the UK's largest specialist transport and logistics recruitment company have been engaged by several major European companies to fulfil their permanent and ad-hoc/driver cover requirements. We are therefore currently seeking several HGV Class 1 Night Drivers for various roles and contract terms (to suit you) in and around Trafford Park.

As a HGV Class 1 Night Driver you will be required to carry out depot to depot deliveries and trailer swaps, taking and following instructions from the transport teams.

Start time will be around 1930 and you will be expected to finish around 0600am

HGV Class 1 Night Driver responsibilities:

• Maintaining regular contact with Transport/Branch Managers on daily progress
• Securing loads, understanding height restrictions and legal height limits
• Driving vehicle responsibly and safely, obeying all traffic laws
• Daily vehicle checks to ensure procedural compliance
• Completing paperwork accurately as instructed

HGV Class 1 Night Driver requirements:

• No more than 6 points (No DD's, DR's, IN's, TT's)
• Valid CPC and Digital Tachograph card
• Full UK Driving licence,
• Cat-C+E Licence (HGV Class 1) held for 3 years
