Job summary

Vanta Staffing is recruiting on behalf of our client for an experienced Class 1 Night Driver to join their transport operation on a permanent basis. This role suits an HGV driver who works well independently and enjoys regular night-time driving.

As a Class 1 Driver you will deliver and collect palletised freight from partner depots, with loading mainly by forklift and some manual handling. Maintain vehicle and load checks and work professionally with customers and partners.

Qualifications

• Class 1 (C+E) licence is required.
• Driver CPC qualification required.
• Minimum 12 months' Class 1 driving experience.
• Night driving experience is desirable but not essential.
• Knowledge of UK road transport regulations and Health & Safety.
• Ability to work independently during night shifts.
• Good communication and customer service skills.
• Physically capable of undertaking occasional manual handling duties.

Responsibilities

Class 1 Night Driver

Vanta Staffing is recruiting on behalf of our client for an experienced Class 1 Night Driver to join their transport operation on a permanent basis.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced HGV Class 1 driver who is comfortable working independently and enjoys regular night-time driving.

The Role

As a Class 1 Driver, you will be responsible for the safe and professional delivery and collection of palletised freight from partner depots.

The majority of loading and unloading will be carried out using forklift trucks, although there may also be some use of electric pallet trucks. The role can involve some physical work when completing certain deliveries.

Key Responsibilities

• Driving a Class 1 HGV to deliver and collect palletised freight.
• Completing deliveries and collections safely, efficiently and on time.
• Carrying out vehicle and load checks in accordance with company procedures.
• Working professionally with customers, pallet network partners and colleagues.
• Reporting any issues or concerns through the appropriate channels.
• Maintaining a professional appearance and representing the client positively at all times.

Working Hours

• 45 hours per week
• Monday to Friday
• Shifts worked between approximately 4:00pm and 4:00am
• Includes a 1-hour unpaid break

Salary & Benefits

• £34,000 - £37,000 per annum, depending on experience
• 22 days' annual leave + 8 Bank Holidays
• Driver CPC training provided and paid for by the client
• Regular Monday-to-Friday work
• Full-time, permanent opportunity
