Job summary

People Solutions are recruiting for an HGV Class 1 Driver to join our well-established client based in Hyde, Manchester. This role offers consistent work and a professional environment with day and night shifts.

Competitive hourly rates: Days £17.50, Nights £18.50, and weekly pay. You will operate Category CE vehicles, deliver food to stores, complete pre-trip/post-trip inspections, and ensure loads are secured.

Qualifications

• Valid UK Category CE Driving Licence.
• Valid Driver CPC Qualification Card.
• Valid Digital Tachograph Card.
• Minimum of two years' HGV Class 1 driving experience preferred.
• No more than six penalty points for minor offences (no IN10, DR10, or DD10).
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Professional, reliable, and safety-conscious approach to work.

Responsibilities

• Safely and efficiently operating Category CE vehicles
• Delivering food products to store locations
• Ensuring all loads are safely secured before departure
• Carrying out pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections
• Reporting vehicle defects or issues promptly
• Completing deliveries in a timely and professional manner
• Communicating effectively with the transport office regarding delays or issues
• Complying with Driver Hours Regulations, the Working Time Directive, and UK road traffic legislation
• Completing all required paperwork and electronic records accurately
