Job summary

Evri is hiring HGV Class 1 Night Drivers at Crewe Depot. You will drive on longer routes, ensure safe parcel collection and delivery, and assist with loading and unloading. Roles are full-time, 40 hours weekly, with rotas published in advance.

Qualifications

• Full UK driving licence with HGV Class 1 (Cat C E) entitlements,Driver's CPC & digital tachograph.
• Excellent communication skills for coordinating with depot staff and clients.
• A safety-first mindset to ensure safe handling of parcels and vehicles.
• Good physical fitness to manage loading/unloading and tail-lift duties.

Responsibilities

• Drive HGV Class 1 on longer routes within the Hermes network, ensuring safe collection and delivery of parcels.
• Carry out tail-lift operations and load/unload your own vehicle.
• Maintain accurate paperwork and communicate with depot staff as required.
• Work 40 hours per week across 5 shifts out of 7, with rotas provided in advance.

What You’ll Do:

Our HGV Class 1 drivers usually drive our longer routes in waves, ensuring the safe, efficient driving of vehicles from depots to our clients and other sites in the Hermes network. You’ll ensure parcels are collected and delivered safely, paperwork updated and assist depot staff with heavier items from time to time. You will be responsible for tail-lifting, both loading and unloading your own vehicle. Our full-time HGV Class 1 driver roles are 40 hours a week. Full time is any 5 shifts out of 7, rotas are given in advance.

Essential Skills & Experience Required:

• You’ll need a full UK driving licence with HGV Class 1 (Cat C E) entitlements, driver's CPC and digital tachograph. Newly-qualified drivers are welcome, however all drivers will need to undertake a short driving assessment.
