Job summary

The Best Connection is seeking experienced C+E trunk drivers for night shifts from our Stockton on Tees hub. You’ll drive across the country delivering containers using skeleton trailers, with start times around 18:00 and a mix of ongoing and ad hoc shifts.

Role includes vehicle checks, reporting defects, completing paperwork, and aiming for delivery slots. CPC/DIGI in date and trailer experience are preferred. Competitive hourly rates apply.

Qualifications

• C+E licence held and current CPC and DIGI card.
• Experience operating extendable skeleton trailers is required.
• Familiar with Mirror Cam trucks is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Start from the Stockton hub and transport containers across the country.
• Adhere to scheduled delivery windows and complete delivery notes.
• Perform vehicle checks and report defects.
• Ensure safe and timely operation of a C+E vehicle.
• Manage handballing tasks as required.

Job description

The Best Connection are working with our Stockton on Tees based client to source additional C+E (Class 1) NIGHT SHIFT Trunk Drivers for their expanding operation.

There are on going as well as ad hoc shifts available.

The role:

• Starting at the Stockton hub you will be driving across the country to deliver containers using skeleton trailers
• Start times are approximately 18:00
• There is a minimum of "Hand-balling" involved
• The Safe and Timely Operation of a C+E (Class one) vehicle
• All vehicle checks and reporting of defects.
• Achieving delivery slots
• Using website-based delivery scheduling
• Completion of delivery notes and associated paperwork

The candidate:

• C+E (Class One) Licence
• In date CPC and DIGI Card
• Experience using extendable "skelly" trailers
• Experience using "Mirror Cam" Trucks

Rewards:

• £15.75 per hour (PAYE) Firsrt 8 hours Monday to Friday
• £23.17 per hour After 8 hours / all Saturday
• £30.90 per hour Sunday / Bank Holiday
