Job summary

Ford and Slater is seeking an HGV Class 1 Driver / Workshop Assistant in Leicester. You will perform vehicle collection and delivery within Leicestershire, with occasional trips to other dealerships, plus workshop caretaker duties when not driving.

The role includes regular road tests (where licence allows), steam cleaning of trucks, and joining a team that values customer focus and quality service. Local work with an excellent training program is provided.

Qualifications

• Must hold a valid UK Class 1 licence (ideally clean).
• Customer focused with excellent communication skills.
• Any mechanical knowledge would be an advantage but not essential.
• PC literate.

Responsibilities

• Collection/delivery of vehicles within Leicestershire and surrounding areas; ad hoc longer journeys to other Ford & Slater dealerships.
• Occasional road testing of vehicles (subject to licence restrictions).
• Steam cleaning trucks.
• General workshop caretaker duties when not driving.

We currently have a vacancy for an HGV Class 1 Driver (Collection and Delivery) in the fantastic team at our DAF Trucks dealership in Leicester.

Responsibilities

Shift pattern

Alternate weeks, Monday to Friday, 08:00 - 16:30 / 10:30 - 19:00 (with a 30 minute unpaid break each shift)
