Job summary

Ford & Slater King's Lynn is seeking an HGV Class 1 Driver / Workshop Assistant. Local work, no Tramping, and an hourly rate up to £15.82 depending on experience.

The role combines driving duties with workshop tasks: vehicle collection and delivery within Leicestershire and surrounding areas, occasional road testing, and general workshop caretaker duties when not driving. Shift pattern: alternate weeks, 08:00–16:30 or 10:30–19:00.

Qualifications

• Must hold a valid UK Class 1 licence (ideally clean).
• Customer focused individual with excellent communication skills.
• PC literate.

Responsibilities

• Collection / delivery of vehicles from / to customers within Leicestershire and surrounding areas; ad hoc longer journeys to other Ford & Slater dealerships.
• Occasional road testing of vehicles (subject to licence restrictions).
• General Workshop caretaker duties when not driving.

The HGV Class 1 Driver / Workshop Assistant responsibilities include (but not limited to):

• This is a duel role - Collection / delivery of vehicles from / to customers within Leicestershire and the surrounding areas. Ad hoc longer journeys to other Ford & Slater dealerships.
• Occasional road testing of vehicles (subject to licence restrictions).
• General Workshop caretaker duties when not driving.

Who are we looking for as our HGV Class 1 Driver / Workshop Assistant:

• You must hold a valid UK Class 1 licence (ideally clean).
• Be a customer focused individual with excellent communication skills.
• Any mechanical knowledge would be an advantage but not essential.
• PC Literate.

Shift pattern: Alternate weeks, Monday to Friday, 08:00 – 16:30 / 10:30 – 19:00 (with a 30 minute unpaid break each shift)
