Job summary

DAF Trucks UK is seeking an HGV Class 1 Driver / Workshop Assistant in Leicestershire. The role offers local work with no tramping and an hourly rate up to £15.82, plus in-house and manufacturer training and development opportunities.

The role includes vehicle collection and delivery within Leicestershire, occasional road testing, and general workshop duties when not driving. Alternate weeks shift pattern, 08:00–16:30 or 10:30–19:00 with a 30-minute break.

Qualifications

• You must hold a valid UK Class 1 licence (ideally clean).
• You be a customer-focused individual with excellent communication skills.
• Any mechanical knowledge would be an advantage but not essential.
• PC literate.

Responsibilities

• This is a dual role - Collection and delivery of vehicles from/to customers within Leicestershire and surrounding areas.
• Ad hoc longer journeys to other Ford & Slater dealerships.
• Occasional road testing of vehicles (subject to licence restrictions).
• General workshop caretaker duties when not driving.
