Job summary

The Recruitment Crowd is recruiting on behalf of our client in the Nottingham area for experienced HGV Class 1 (C+E) drivers. Roles are ongoing with flexible start times between 12:00 and 21:00 and various pay scales by day and overtime.

Shifts run across Monday to Sunday, with full-time, part-time, or ad-hoc options. Training includes on-site induction and tacho download. Weekly pay and modern vehicles support efficient operations.

Qualifications

• Full UK driving licence with Class 1 entitlement (C+E)
• At least 6 months of proven experience driving the relevant vehicle
• Valid and in date DCPC and Digital Tachograph card
• No more than 6 points on licence (minor offences only)
• Less than 12 infringement points in any one month and no infringement points for three consecutive months
• Flexibility to work shifts across Monday to Sunday with start times from 12 pm – 9 pm (all paid at night rate)
• Ability to travel to local site for tacho card download prior to being put forward
• Full understanding of WTD legislation
• Excellent communication skills
• A safety‑first mindset

Responsibilities

• Execute depot pull, filling the back of a trailer at the depot and transporting it to a hub
• Engage in customer work, taking the vehicle to a customer to collect a trailer, delivering it to a hub, and returning to the depot
• Assist with loading and unloading at customer sites and in the depot
• Perform drop and swap operations, sometimes using a tail lift, and occasionally doing trailer swaps requiring uncoupling the vehicle
• Collaborate with a team to ensure efficient operations and timely deliveries
• Travel to local sites for a one‑off download of the tacho card prior to being put forward for the position
• Attend an on‑site induction for the first shift
