Job summary

The Recruitment Crowd, on behalf of our well known client in the Carlisle area, is seeking experienced HGV Class 1 Drivers (C+E) to join the team. Shifts run across Monday to Sunday with full time or part time options and night rates.

Role involves depot pull, customer pickups, loading/unloading, and occasional trailer swaps. Induction and local tacho card download may be required. Excellent communication and safety focus are essential.

Qualifications

• Full UK driving licence with Class 1 entitlement (C+E).
• At least 6 months of proven experience driving the relevant vehicle.
• Valid and in date DCPC and Digital Tachograph card.
• No more than 6 points on licence; minor offences only.
• Full understanding of WTD legislation.

Responsibilities

• Execute depot pull, filling the back of a trailer at the depot and transporting it to a hub.
• Engage in customer work, taking the vehicle to a customer to collect a trailer, delivering it to a hub, and returning to the depot.
• Assist with loading and unloading at customer sites and in the depot.
• Perform drop and swap operations, sometimes using a tail lift, and occasionally doing trailer swaps requiring uncoupling the vehicle.
• Collaborate with a team to ensure efficient operations and timely deliveries.
• Travel to local sites for a one-off download of the tacho card prior to being put forward for the position.
• Attend an on-site induction for the first shift.
