Job summary

Great Bear is hiring experienced HGV Class 1 drivers for a busy 24-hour transport operation at Minworth. This 4 on 4 off night shift role offers shifts from 18:00 to 06:00 with pay starting at £16.49 per hour plus overtime supplements and up to £2,000 yearly shift allowance.

You will deliver palletised loads, complete paperwork, and maintain safety and customer service standards while complying with tachograph and driver hours rules.

Qualifications

• Requires valid HGV Class 1 driving experience and a current C+E licence.
• DCPC and Tachograph cards are required.
• Good understanding of Drivers Hours and Working Time Directive rules.

Responsibilities

• Deliver safe, professional palletised loads to customer premises.
• Complete backdoor pallet deliveries and regional transfers.
• Support occasional tipping or multi-drop deliveries as needed.
• Occasional night out may be required.
• Report delays or load issues to the Transport team at shift start.
• Complete all paperwork and ensure PODs are returned.
• Follow health, safety, and hygiene standards.
• Adhere to tachograph rules and Road Transport Directive.
• Perform daily vehicle checks and report defects.
• Maintain high standards of behaviour and customer service.
