Job summary

Culina is seeking a driver with a valid C+E licence to undertake safe, professional deliveries across the UK. The role involves night-shift start times (00:00 to 04:00) and occasional overnight stays. You will perform back-to-back drops, ensure PODs are completed, and maintain compliance with tachograph and WTD rules.

Qualifications

• Valid C+E licence (Class 1).
• Minimum 12 months HGV Class 1 driving experience.
• No more than 6 points; no DD or DR convictions.
• Current UK Driver CPC and Digital Tachograph cards.
• Good understanding of Driver Hours and Working Time Directive.

Responsibilities

• Carry out safe, professional deliveries to customer premises.
• Complete general haulage deliveries to Regional Distribution Centres, with many as backdoor tip.
• Support occasional tipping or multi-drop deliveries according to demand.
• Occasional night out may be required.
• Report delays or load discrepancies to Transport team promptly.
• Complete paperwork accurately and ensure PODs are signed.
• Follow health, safety and tachograph rules and company procedures.
• Carry out daily vehicle checks and report defects correctly.
• Take responsibility for unit and trailer, including temperature checks where required.
• Maintain high standard of behaviour, appearance and customer service.

Job description

• Carry out safe, professional deliveries to customer premises.
• Complete general haulage deliveries to Regional Distribution Centres, with most deliveries completed as backdoor tip.
• Support occasional driver tipping or multi-drop deliveries depending on customer demand.
• Occasional Night out may be required
• Report to the Transport team at the start of each shift and communicate any delays, delivery issues or load discrepancies promptly.
• Complete all paperwork accurately and ensure PODs are signed and returned to the Transport Office.
• Follow company rules and procedures, including health, safety and hygiene standards.
• Manage your working time in line with the Road Transport Directive and adhere to tachograph rules and regulations.
• Complete daily vehicle checks in line with company procedure and report defects correctly.
• Taking responsibility for the unit and trailer, including temperature checks where required.
• Maintaining a high standard of behaviour, appearance and customer service at all times.
• Valid C+E License.
• Minimum 12 months' HGV Class 1 driving experience preferred;
• No more than 6 points on your license and no DD or DR code convictions.
• Current valid UK Driver CPC qualification card and Digital Tachograph cards.
• Good understanding of Driver's Hours and Working Time Directive legislation.
• Ability to complete vehicle checks and report defects correctly.
• Commitment to on-site health and safety requirements.
• Excellent communication skills and a professional approach.

Start Times: 00:00am - 04:00am. Available Shift Patterns: Thursday - Monday. Salary: £17.04 per hour, plus a £1.50 per hour uplift for weekend shifts. Overtime is paid at 1.3x the hourly rate for all hours over 50 hours per week.
