Job summary

The Recruitment Crowd are currently recruiting on behalf of our client based in Sittingbourne for experienced HGV Class 1 Drivers (CAT C+E). The role is ongoing with Monday to Friday shifts starting at 09:30.

Pay rate is £18.35 per hour PAYE with overtime at £27.53 after 40 hours. You will handle collections, assist with loading, operate company systems, and conduct vehicle checks to ensure safety and compliance.

Qualifications

• Full UK driving licence with Class 1 entitlement (C+E).
• At least 12 months of proven experience driving the relevant vehicle.
• Valid in-date DCPC and Digital Tachograph card.
• No more than 6 points on licence (minor offences only).
• Full understanding of WTD legislation.
• Excellent communication skills.
• A safety-first mindset.

Responsibilities

• Collections.
• Manual handling: loading/unloading parcels at depots and customer locations.
• Collaborate with a team to ensure efficient operations and timely Collections.
• Operate devices and company software to update delivery status and communicate with the depot.
• Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections, ensuring roadworthiness and compliance.
• Adhere to traffic laws, regulations and company policies to maintain safety on the road.
• Communicate with dispatch and logistics teams for timely deliveries and pickups.
