Job summary

The Recruitment Crowd are recruiting for an established client in Lincoln for experienced HGV Class 1 Drivers (C+E). Roles include depot to hub runs, customer site work and occasional loading duties. Shift times span 12:00pm to 21:00pm with full-time, part-time, or ad-hoc options.

Qualifications

• Full UK driving licence with Class 1 entitlement (C+E).
• 6+ months of proven experience driving the relevant vehicle.

Responsibilities

• Drive and deliver trailers between depot, hubs and customer sites.
• Assist with loading/unloading and tail-lift operations where required.
• Attend on-site induction prior to first shift and comply with WTD.
• Coordinate with team to ensure timely deliveries and efficient operations.

Job description

The Recruitment Crowd are currently recruiting on behalf of our well known and industry-leading client based in the Lincoln area. We are looking for experienced HGV Class 1 Drivers (CAT C+E) to join the team.

Shifts:

Shifts run across Monday to Sunday (full time or part time available or ad-hoc).

Hours:

Start times any time between 12:00pm to 21:00pm (Flexibility for shift times required).

Pay Rate:

• Midweek - £18.15 per hour rising to £19.15 after 12 weeks.
• Midweek overtime (after 8 hours) - £25.25 per hour rising to £27.25 after 12 weeks.
• Saturday - £23.52 per hour rising to £24.52 after 12 weeks.
• Saturday overtime (after 8 hours) - £25.25 per hour rising to £27.25 after 12 weeks.
• Sunday - £26.25 per hour rising to £27.25 after 12 weeks.
• Bank Holidays - £34.42 per hour rising to £35.42 after 12 weeks.

The role:

• Execute depot pull, filling the back of a trailer at the depot and transporting it to a hub.
• Engage in customer work, taking the vehicle to a customer to collect a trailer, delivering it to a hub, and returning to the depot.
• Assist with loading and unloading at customer sites and in the depot
• Perform drop and swap operations, sometimes using a tail lift, and occasionally doing trailer swaps requiring uncoupling the vehicle.
• Collaborate with a team to ensure efficient operations and timely deliveries.
• Travel to local sites for a one-off download of the tacho card prior to being put forward for the position.
• Attend an on-site induction for the first shift.

Requirements:

• Full UK driving licence with Class 1 entitlement (category C+E).
• Have at least 6 months of proven experience driving the relevant vehicle.
• Valid and in date DCPC and Digital Tachograph card.
• No more than 6 points on licence (minor offences only).
• Less than 12 infringement points in any one month and no infringement points for three consecutive months.
• Flexibility to work shifts across Monday to Sunday with start times from 12 pm - 9 pm (all paid at night rate).
• Ability to travel to local site for tacho card download prior to being put forward.
• Full understanding of WTD legislation.
• Excellent communication skills.
• A safety-first mindset.
