Job summary

Culina Group is seeking professional HGV Class 1 Drivers to join our Chilled & Fresh team in Spalding, supporting our Chilled operation and delivering to key retail customers across the UK. This permanent, full-time role focuses on safe driving, excellent customer service and dependable delivery standards.

You will operate refrigerated articulated vehicles, manage paperwork including PODs, and work within the Transport team to report delays, comply with driver hours, tachograph rules and health

Qualifications

• Hold a valid C+E Licence and be eligible to drive Class 1 vehicles.
• Recent experience driving heavy goods vehicles (Class 1) is preferred.
• No more than 6 points on your licence; no DD/DR convictions.
• Hold current DCPC and Tachograph cards.
• Understand and comply with driver’s hours and Working Time Directive (WTD).
• Able to perform vehicle safety checks and report defects.
• Follow on-site health and safety requirements and maintain professional conduct.

Responsibilities

• Carry out safe, professional deliveries to customer premises across the UK.
• Operate refrigerated articulated vehicles for nationwide palletised goods deliveries.
• Complete all paperwork accurately and ensure PODs are signed and returned to Transport Office.
• Report delays, delivery issues, or load discrepancies to Transport team at shift start.
• Maintain vehicle temperature checks and daily checks; take responsibility for unit and trailer.
• Adhere to company procedures and uphold customer service and professional standards.

We’re looking for professional HGV Class 1 Drivers to join our Culina Chilled & Fresh team in Spalding, supporting our Chilled operation and delivering to key retail customers across the UK.

This is a permanent role offering full-time stability for HGV Class 1 drivers who will be responsible for RDC, Farms and Packhouse deliveries. This role is ideal for a HGV driver who takes pride in safe driving, excellent customer service and dependable delivery standards. You’ll be joining a supportive transport team where safe driving, reliable service and high professional standards are valued every day.

Shift Patterns-

• Saturday-Tuesday Start time 21:00pm-23:00pm
• 4on4off- Start time 21:00pm-23:00pm
• Saturday- Start time Tuesday 23:00pm-01:00am
• 4on4off Start time 23:00pm-01:00am
• Sunday-Wednesday Start time 01:00am-02:00am
• 4on4off- Start time 01:00am-02:00am

Tramping-

• Friday-Monday Start time 22:00pm-00:01pm
• 4on4off- Start time 22:00pm-00:01pm
• 4on4off 00:01pm-02:00am

Salary- From £14.72ph- £20.73ph

What you'll be doing:

• Carry out safe, professional deliveries to customer premises across the UK.
• Operating refrigerated articulated vehicles
• Complete nationwide deliveries of palletised goods to Regional Distribution Centres, Farms and Packhouses
• Report to the Transport team at the start of each shift and keep them updated on delays, delivery issues or load discrepancies.
• Complete all paperwork accurately and ensure PODs are signed and returned to the Transport Office.
• Follow company procedures, including health, safety and hygiene standards.
• Manage your working time in line with the Road Transport Directive and tachograph rules.
• Complete daily vehicle checks and report defects correctly and take responsibility for your unit and trailer, including temperature checks where required.
• Maintain a professional standard of behaviour, appearance and customer service at all times.

Qualifications

• You should hold a valid C+E Licence
• Previous Class 1 Driving Experience is advantageous however we will consider New Pass Drivers
• No more than 6 points and no DD/ DR Code convictions.
• Hold a current valid DCPC & Tacho cards.
• Understand and able to comply with Driver’s hours and WTD legislation.
• Able to understand and carry out necessary vehicle checks to ensure vehicle safety and able to report defects correctly.
• Should comply with on-site health and safety requirements.
• Excellent communication skills.
