Job summary

Culina in Tilbury is seeking professional HGV Class 1 Drivers to support our Chilled operation across the UK, delivering to key retail customers.

This is a permanent, full-time role focused on safe driving, excellent customer service, and dependable delivery standards. You will join a supportive transport team that values safety and high professional standards every day.

Qualifications

• Valid C+E Licence.
• Current DCPC and Digital Tachograph cards.
• Minimum 3 months’ HGV Class 1 driving experience.
• No more than 6 points, no DD/DR convictions.
• Good understanding of Drivers’ Hours and Working Time Directive.

Responsibilities

• Carry out safe, professional deliveries to customer premises across the UK.
• Complete nationwide deliveries of palletised goods to RDCs.
• Night shift may support trunking to Culina sites.
• No Cage work or Tipping; report delays and load discrepancies.
• Complete paperwork and sign PODs; follow health and safety rules.
• Manage working time per tachograph rules and RTD directives.
• Perform daily vehicle checks and report defects.

Job Description

We’re looking for professional HGV Class 1 Drivers to join our Culina team in Tilbury, supporting our Chilled operation and delivering to key retail customers across the UK.

This is a permanent role offering full-time stability for HGV Class 1 drivers who will be responsible for RDC deliveries. This role is ideal for a HGV driver who takes pride in safe driving, excellent customer service and dependable delivery standards. You’ll be joining a supportive transport team where safe driving, reliable service and high professional standards are valued every day.

Shift start times:

• 00:00 – 03:00
• 01:00 – 04:00
• 02:00 – 05:00
• 12:00 – 15:00
• 14:00 – 17:00
• 17:00 – 20:00

We offer flexibility in shift patterns and other shift patterns can be considered, let us know what you’re looking for, we’ll do our best to accommodate your preferences.

Pay rates

• 4 on 4 off - £35499.30 basic salary
• 5 on 3 off - £44252.37 basic salary

Our HGV Drivers have strong earning potential, with shift allowances premiums and the opportunity for overtime, drivers have the potential to earn up £52680 with OTE.

What you’ll be doing:

• Carry out safe, professional deliveries to customer premises across the UK.
• Complete nationwide deliveries of palletised goods to Regional Distribution Centres
• Drivers interested in Night shift will predominately be supporting our trunking operation to Culina Sites
• No Cage work or Tipping
• Report to the Transport team at the start of each shift and keep them updated on delays, delivery issues or load discrepancies.
• Complete all paperwork accurately and ensure PODs are signed and returned to the Transport Office.
• Follow company procedures, including health, safety and hygiene standards.
• Manage your working time in line with the Road Transport Directive and tachograph rules.
• Complete daily vehicle checks and report defects correctly and take responsibility for your unit and trailer, including temperature checks where required.
• Maintain a professional standard of behaviour, appearance and customer service at all times.
• No Planned Night Outs

Qualifications

What we’re looking for

• Valid C+E Licence.
• Current valid DCPC and Digital Tachograph cards.
• Minimum 3 months’ HGV Class 1 driving experience required
• No more than 6 points on your licence, with no DD or DR code convictions.
• Good understanding of Drivers’ Hours and Working Time Directive legislation.
• Ability to complete vehicle checks and report defects correctly.
• Commitment to on-site health and safety requirements.
• Excellent communication skills and a professional approach.
