Job summary

Tallgrass Recruitment Limited, based in Liverpool, is recruiting experienced HGV Class 1 (C+E) drivers for general haulage with curtain-sided trailers. Mainly day work, with some four-night tramp positions. Monday–Friday opportunities with regular, reliable assignments in a pro-active transport operation.

Role involves loading/unloading, securing loads, completing paperwork, and maintaining vehicle care. A competitive £19/hour, weekly pay, and modern, well-maintained vehicles are offered.

Qualifications

• Valid HGV Class 1 (C+E) licence.
• Valid Driver CPC.
• Valid Digital Tachograph Card.
• Minimum 10 months’ Class 1 driving experience.
• Good knowledge of UK roads.
• General haulage experience preferred.
• Reliable, professional and flexible approach.
• Strong commitment to safety and compliance.
• Good communication and customer service skills.
• Willingness to stay out four nights per week for tramping positions.

Responsibilities

• Operate general haulage using curtain-sided trailers.
• Drive day or tramping across the UK.
• Safe loading, unloading and securing of goods.
• Ensure loads transported safely and securely.
• Complete delivery paperwork and vehicle documentation accurately.
• Carry out daily vehicle checks and report defects.
• Maintain high standards of vehicle care and cleanliness.
• Comply with drivers' hours, tachograph regulations and road safety requirements.
• Provide a professional and reliable service to customers.

We are currently looking to recruit experienced HGV Class 1 (C+E) drivers for general haulage work using curtain-sided trailers, based in Liverpool. We are primarily looking for day drivers, but we are also recruiting day trampers who are happy to stay out four nights per week. This is an excellent opportunity for professional C+E drivers seeking regular Monday–Friday work, competitive pay and consistent assignments with a reliable transport operation.

Pay & Hours

• £19.00 per hour
• Monday–Friday
• Day driving positions available
• Tramping positions involving four nights out per week
• Start times vary depending on assignments and daily operations, mainly between 06:00 and 08:00
• Hours will vary depending on each assignment

The Role
