Pro-Drive is recruiting an HGV Class 1 Driver for general haulage around Rugeley and Fradley Park, Staffordshire. You will transport loads safely across the Midlands and wider UK, with a mix of deliveries and collections.

We offer ongoing full-time work with AM or PM start times, and hourly pay from £16.00 to £24.94 depending on shift and route. You’ll work with an experienced transport team committed to safety and reliability.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Drive a Class 1 / C+E articulated vehicle
• Complete general haulage deliveries and collections
• Work from the Rugeley or Fradley Park area

• Secure loads using straps and other equipment
• Open/close curtains and prepare vehicle for loading/unloading
• Check delivery paperwork and obtain proof of delivery

• Follow drivers' hours, tachograph and RT regulations
• Maintain high safety and customer service standards

Are you an experienced HGV Class 1 Driver looking for ongoing work with a well-established logistics operation in Staffordshire?

We are currently recruiting HGV Class 1 Drivers for a busy general haulage operation based around Rugeley and Fradley Park. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Class 1 Driver who wants regular work, competitive pay and a choice of AM or PM start times.

The Role - HGV Class 1 Driver

As an HGV Class 1 Driver, you will be responsible for the safe and professional transportation of general haulage throughout the Midlands and wider UK network.

The work can involve a mixture of deliveries and collections, with routes and workloads varying depending on the day's transport schedule. You may be completing multiple drops during a shift, with the exact number dependent on the route, customer requirements and distance involved.

The role is primarily based around curtain-sided articulated vehicles, with drivers expected to take responsibility for their vehicle, load and paperwork throughout the day.

Typical duties for the HGV Class 1 Driver will include:

• Driving a Class 1 / Category C+E articulated vehicle
• Completing general haulage deliveries and collections
• Working from either the Rugeley or Fradley Park area
• Completing multiple deliveries depending on the route
• Carrying out vehicle safety checks before and during shifts
• Correctly securing loads using straps and other appropriate equipment
• Opening and closing curtains and preparing the vehicle for loading/unloading
• Checking delivery paperwork and obtaining proof of delivery where required
• Communicating professionally with customers and site personnel
• Reporting any vehicle defects or transport issues
• Following drivers' hours, tachograph and road transport regulations
• Maintaining a high standard of safety and customer service

Pay & Start Times

We can offer AM and PM start times, making this opportunity suitable for drivers looking for more flexibility around their working day.

Pay rates range from £16.00 up to £24.94 per hour, depending on the shift, hours worked and applicable rate.
