Job summary

Candidate Source in Basildon is seeking an HGV Class 1 driver to join the team. The role is 50% driving and 50% yard work, preparing trailers and trucks for hire, with a Monday–Friday 07:00–17:00 schedule.

You will perform vehicle deliveries and collections, present vehicles for MOT, run daily checks, keep the yard tidy, and prepare vehicles for hire. A valid HGV1 licence, CPC and Digi card, and knowledge of the local area are required; overtime may be available.

Qualifications

• Must hold a valid Full Driving Licence HGV Class 1.
• CPC and Digi card holders required.
• Good knowledge of the local area.
• Flexibility is required; overtime may be needed.

• Assist with daily deliveries and collections of vehicles and trailers.

• Carry out daily checks on shunters.
• Keep yard tidy and shunt in yard vehicles for hire.
• Prepare vehicles for hire, including valeting and checks.
• Deliver vehicles to other depots within the group.
• Collect new vehicles from body builders.

A well-established and successful Truck and Trailer Rentals Company based in Basildon is looking for a HGV Class 1 driver to join the team. This role is 50% driving and 50% yard work preparing trailers and trucks for hire.

Responsibilities as HGV Class 1 Driver:

• Assisting with daily deliveries and collections of vehicles and trailers to the surrounding areas.
• Presenting vehicles and trailers for MOT.
• Carrying out daily checks on shunters.
• Keeping yard tidy and shunting in yard vehicles that are required for hire.
• Getting vehicles ready for hire, valeting, and carrying out operational checks.
• Delivering vehicles to other depots within the group.
• Collecting new vehicles from body builders.

What we're looking for in a HGV Class 1 Driver:

• Must have a Full Driving Licence HGV Class 1,
• CPC and Digi card holder
• A good knowledge of the area.
• Flexibility is required
• Overtime as and when required.

This is a full-time role working Monday-Friday, 07:00 - 17:00. In return, you will receive a salary of up to £42,000 per annum.
