Job summary

LME Recruitment Limited is partnering with a leading Basildon company to recruit a professional HGV Class 1 Driver for a stable day-based role. You will collect and deliver locally, shunt in the yard, carry out basic vehicle checks, and maintain high standards of safety and customer service.

We’re seeking someone with a valid Driver CPC and Digital Tachograph Card, reliable and able to work independently or as part of a small team. Day shifts are 08:00–17:30, with evenings free.

Qualifications

• Driver CPC and Digital Tachograph Card required.
• Experience in a similar role preferred.
• Strong work ethic and reliability.
• Good communication and positive attitude.
• Ability to work independently and in a small team.

Responsibilities

• Collect and deliver HGV Class 1 vehicles and trailers locally (no nights out).
• Shunt vehicles and trailers in the yard using a tug vehicle.
• Keep the yard clean, tidy and safe at all times.
• Valeting and maintaining the cleanliness of trucks and trailers.
• Liaising with customers in a professional and friendly manner.
• Carrying out basic vehicle checks and reporting any defects.

What You’ll Be Doing:

• Collecting and delivering HGV Class 1 vehicles and trailers locally (no nights out)
• Shunting vehicles and trailers in the yard using a tug vehicle

About You:
