Job summary

Culina is recruiting permanent HGV Class 1 drivers to join our Northampton Morrisons RDC operation. This role focuses on safe driving, customer service and reliable delivery standards.

We offer full-time, permanent positions with varied shifts across 5 from 7, including days and nights, with some weekend work. Shifts run Days 00:00–04:00 and Nights 15:00–23:00; Pay rates range from £15.15 to £18.96 per hour, depending on shift.

Qualifications

• Valid C+E licence held
• Minimum 6 months HGV Class 1 driving experience preferred (new passes considered)
• Current DCPC and Tachograph cards are required
• Understanding Driver hours and WTD legislation
• Ability to perform vehicle safety checks and report defects
• Excellent communication and safety awareness on site

Responsibilities

• General Haulage with curtainside trailers to Distribution Centres and stores
• Well planned multi-drop deliveries
• No manual handling requirement
• Complete all vehicle checks and documentation
• Maintain high levels of safety, compliance and professionalism
• Work closely with transport team to ensure smooth operations
• Adhere to Driver’s hours, WTD and tachograph regulations

Job Description

We are recruiting permanent HGV Class 1 drivers to join us at Morrisons RDC in Northampton to support our General Haulage Operations. This role is ideal for a HGV driver who takes pride in safe driving, excellent customer service and dependable delivery standards.

The roles are full time, working on a permanent basis and have a variety of shift patterns available working any from 5 from 7 across Days and Nights, some shift patterns will include weekend working.

Shift times

• Days - start times between 00:00-04:00
• Nights- Start times between 15:00- 23:00

Pay Rates:

• Mon - Fri Day Shift - £15.15 per hour
• Mon-Fri Night Shift - £16.35 per hour
• Saturday and Sunday Day Shift - £18.15 per hour
• Saturday and Sunday Night Shift - £18.65
• Bank Holidays - £18.96 per hour.

Driver Responsibilities:

• General Haulage with Curtainside trailers, to Distribution Centres and Stores
• Well planned multi-drop deliveries
• No requirement for Manual Handling
• Completing all necessary vehicle checks and documentation
• Maintaining high levels of safety, compliance, and professionalism
• Working closely with the transport team to ensure smooth operations
• Adhere to Driver's hours, WTD, and tachograph legislation.

Qualifications

• You should hold a valid C+E Licence and ideally have a minimum of 6 months HGV Class 1 driving experience (We will consider New Pass Drivers)
• No more than 6 points and no DD/ DR Code convictions.
• Hold a current valid DCPC & Tacho cards.
• Understand and able to comply with Driver’s hours and WTD legislation.
• Able to understand and carry out necessary vehicle checks to ensure vehicle safety and able to report defects correctly.
• Should comply with on-site health and safety requirements.
• Excellent communication skills.
