Job summary

Culina Group Limited in Bridgwater is hiring permanent HGV Class 1 Drivers to join our transport operation. Earn competitive hourly rates with day and night shifts, including weekend work and fixed patterns for stability.

Base rates start at £18.05/hr with overtime up to £32.49/hr and weekend premiums. You will perform vehicle checks, support distribution across Centres and maintain safety and service standards within a busy team.

Qualifications

• Valid C+E licence and minimum 6 months HGV Class 1 driving experience (new pass drivers considered).
• No more than 6 points and no DD/DR convictions.
• Current DCPC & tachograph cards held.
• Understand driver hours and WTD legislation.
• Able to carry out vehicle checks and report defects.

Responsibilities

• General haulage using curtainside trailers to distribution centres and stores.
• Store collections and returns to distribution centres.
• Complete vehicle safety checks and related paperwork.
• Work with transport team to ensure efficient operations.
• Maintain high safety, compliance and customer service standards.
• Adhere to Drivers' Hours, WTD and tachograph legislation.
• Assist with loading/unloading when required.
• Trunking work as needed.

Earn Up to £32.49 Per Hour

We are currently recruiting permanent HGV Class 1 Drivers to join our team at Morrisons RDC, Bridgwater. This is an excellent opportunity for professional drivers looking for secure, full-time employment with competitive rates of pay and regular work.

We have fixed shift patterns available, offering stability and work-life balance while supporting our busy transport operation.

• Start time between 12:00-14:00

Weekend working is included within the shift pattern.

The Role

As an HGV Class 1 Driver, you'll play a key role in supporting our transport operation, ensuring goods are delivered safely, professionally, and on time.

Your responsibilities will include:

• General haulage using curtainside trailers to Distribution Centres and Stores
• Store collections and returns to Distribution Centres
• Completing vehicle safety checks and associated paperwork
• Working closely with the transport team to ensure efficient operations
• Maintaining high standards of safety, compliance, and customer service
• Adhering to Drivers' Hours, WTD, and tachograph legislation
• Supporting operational requirements, including occasional loading and unloading where required
• Trunking work available subject to operational requirements

Qualifications

• You should hold a valid C+E Licence and ideally have a minimum of 6 months HGV Class 1 driving experience (We will consider New Pass Drivers)
• No more than 6 points and no DD/ DR Code convictions.
• Hold a current valid DCPC & Tacho cards.
• Understand and able to comply with Driver’s hours and WTD legislation.
• Able to understand and carry out necessary vehicle checks to ensure vehicle safety and able to report defects correctly.
• Should comply with on-site health and safety requirements.
• Excellent communication skills.
