Job summary

Workchain in St. Helens is seeking experienced Class 1 (C+E) Tramper Drivers for ongoing nationwide work. You'll handle general haulage across the UK, deliver and collect, and stay away during the week in exchange for regular work and a stable schedule.

You'll drive the same vehicle all week, perform daily vehicle checks, complete delivery paperwork, and follow site procedures. Some vehicles have fridges; you will be advised if yours does not, so you can plan accordingly.

Qualifications

• Must hold a valid Class 1 (C+E) licence.
• Minimum 6 months' Class 1 driving experience.
• Tramper experience preferred where possible.
• Good knowledge of UK roads and reliable timekeeping.

Responsibilities

• General haulage work across the UK and nationwide deliveries/collections.
• Stay away from home during the week.
• Operate the same vehicle throughout the week.
• Complete vehicle checks and keep the vehicle in good condition.
• Finish delivery paperwork and follow site procedures.
• If your vehicle lacks a fridge, you will be advised in advance so you can plan.

We are currently looking for experienced Class 1 (C+E) Tramper Drivers to join a busy general haulage operation based in St. Helens. This is a great opportunity for reliable HGV drivers looking for regular nationwide work, with the potential for ongoing employment for the right candidate.

The Job

As a Class 1 Tramper Driver, you will be responsible for:

• General haulage work across the UK
• Nationwide deliveries and collections
• Staying away during the week
• Operating the same vehicle throughout the week
• Completing vehicle checks and ensuring the vehicle is kept in good condition
• Completing delivery paperwork and following site procedures
• Some vehicles are fitted with fridges. You will be advised in advance if your allocated vehicle does not have a fridge, allowing you time to bring your own if required.

Requirements

• Class 1 (C+E) licence
• Minimum 6 months' Class 1 driving experience
• Previous tramper experience is preferred
• Good knowledge of UK roads
• Reliable and professional attitude
• Good communication and timekeeping
• Comfortable working away from home during the week
