Job summary

Veolia UK is recruiting a driver based in Grangemouth for waste liquids collection, onsite and offsite. You will work 41.5 hours a week, Monday to Thursday 07:30–16:30, with early finish on Friday at 15:30, and a 1 in 14 weeks mandatory night shift rota with overtime paid at time and a half or double time on weekends.

Hourly rate £18.50, plus Veolia benefits and incentive payments. Applicants must hold Cat C+E, ADR, and CPC, with experience in vacuum tankers; training and development are

Qualifications

• Cat C + E (Class 1) licence required.
• ADR qualification (Veolia maintains).
• Up to date driver CPC.
• Experience with high airflow machines and vacuum tankers.
• Willing to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
• Willing to work evenings, nights and weekends.
• Mullier & Recycler experience beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Driving both onsite and off site collecting waste liquids.
• Undertaking the necessary daily checks as per the driver's handbook.
• Adhering to all transport and waste management legislation and ensuring loads comply with traffic laws.
• Participating in pre-job risk assessments to remove hazardous materials safely.
• Reporting faults on plant, equipment and infrastructure to line management.
• Assisting in maintenance and commissioning of plant and equipment as required.

What you'll be doing

• Driving both onsite and off site collecting waste liquids
• Undertaking the necessary daily checks as per the driver's handbook.
• Adhering to all transport and waste management legislation and ensuring all traffic laws and legislation are complied with in relation to your duties including the security and weight of loads.
• Participating in pre-job risk assessments utilising a variety of tools to remove hazardous materials whilst working in a safe manner at all times to avoid taking unnecessary risks.
• Reporting faults on plant, equipment and infrastructure and any other operational difficulties to a member of the line management team, as they occur.
• Assisting in the maintenance of plant and equipment when instructed to do so and to assist in the commissioning of new plant, equipment and processes as required.

What we're looking for

• Cat C + E (Class 1) licence and experience
• Operating knowledge of high airflow machines and vacuum tankers
• Existing ADR Qualification (this will be maintained by Veolia)
• Up to date driver CPC (this will be maintained by Veolia)
• Must be prepared to work outdoors in all weather conditions
• Prepared to work flexible hours, evenings, nights and weekends if required.
• Mullier & Recycler experience would be beneficial
