Kemp Recruitment Ltd is seeking an HGV Breakdown Technician for a Stoke-based role with rotating shifts and on-call duties. Expect a strong basic salary plus standby and call-out pay, plus overtime, with realistic OTE in the £52k–£58k+ range.

The position involves roadside repairs, major/minor HGV servicing, DVSA-aligned diagnostics, and ongoing training within a well-established commercial vehicle specialist. Hybrid/rota-based schedule possible.

Qualifications

• Level 3 qualification (NVQ, City & Guilds, or IMI) in HGV Vehicle Repair and Maintenance.
• Proven experience as an HGV Technician.
• Full, current UK driving licence – HGV licence beneficial but not essential.
• Ability to identify worn and faulty components in DVSA Standards.

Responsabilités

• Responding to breakdowns and carrying out roadside repairs.
• Performing major and minor repairs to HGVs and commercial vehicles.
• Regular inspection and general preventive maintenance services.
• Diagnosing faults and completing repairs to manufacturer and DVSA standards.
• Maintaining workshop inventory and cleanliness.
• Working with repair teams to diagnose and plan vehicle repairs.
• Completing job cards and service records accurately.
