Job summary

Scania (Great Britain) Limited in Sheffield is seeking a skilled HGV Technician to join our Breakdown team. If you have experience with heavy vehicles or are a technician from automotive, plant, agricultural, or military engineering, this is a great opportunity to develop your career with a leading manufacturer.

Breakdown training is provided. You will respond to roadside breakdowns, diagnose faults with the latest equipment, perform servicing and repairs on HGVs, and deliver excellent customer

Qualifications

• Experience as an HGV/LCV/Car/Plant/Agricultural or Military technician is desirable.
• Strong mechanical and diagnostic skills are essential.
• Safety-focused mindset with ability to work independently under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Respond to roadside breakdowns and perform fast, safe repairs.
• Diagnose faults using the latest diagnostic equipment.
• Carry out servicing, maintenance and repairs on HGVs.
• Provide high-quality customer service while working independently.
• Ensure all work is completed with safety at the forefront.

What you'll be doing:

• Responding to roadside breakdowns and carrying out fast, safe, and effective repairs
• Diagnosing faults using the latest diagnostic equipment
• Completing servicing, maintenance, and mechanical repairs on HGVs
• Delivering a high standard of customer service while working independently
• Ensuring all work is completed with safety front of mind

Key skills & attributes:

• Strong mechanical and diagnostic skills
• A proactive, safety-focused approach
• The ability to work independently and under pressure
• Experience as an HGV, LCV, car, plant, agricultural, or military technician

Early / Lates - Week 1: 06:00 - 14:30, Week 2: 14:00 - 22:30

Salary: £19.70 - £21.82 per hour, plus additional standby pay

Training provided - if you are a qualified technician, we can provide the breakdown training.
