Job summary

Quality Service Recruitment Limited is seeking an HGV Class 2 tipper driver in Ilkeston for ongoing work with a genuine temp-to-perm pathway. You will handle straightforward collection and tipping duties on regular weekday hours, with weekends free.

Looking for a straightforward Class 2 driving job with weekends free and the chance to secure a permanent position? We’re recruiting HGV Class 2 Tipper Drivers in Ilkeston for an ongoing opportunity involving simple collection and tipping duties, regular weekday hours and a genuine temp-to-perm opportunity.

This role is ideal for drivers who have recently qualified and gained some driving experience, as well as those looking for a change from multi-drop deliveries. With 40 hours available each week and the potential to move into permanent employment, it’s a great opportunity to build your experience while working towards a longer-term position.

You’ll be responsible for operating a Class 2 tipper vehicle, collecting and transporting aggregates and other materials before tipping them at designated locations.

The work follows a straightforward routine of collecting loads, travelling to the required site and tipping before moving on to the next job. You’ll follow instructions from the transport team, complete your journeys safely and communicate professionally with site personnel.

You’ll also carry out daily vehicle checks, ensure loads are secure, complete the necessary paperwork and follow site rules and health and safety procedures.

Previous tipper driving experience is advantageous but not essential, making this a good opportunity for drivers with some commercial driving experience who are looking to develop their skills in a new area.

You’ll need a valid UK Category C driving licence, Driver CPC and Digital Tachograph Card. Newly qualified drivers are welcome to apply, provided they have gained some relevant driving experience since passing their test. Previous tipper experience is advantageous but not essential.

A reliable, professional and safety-conscious attitude is essential, along with the ability to follow instructions and work safely around vehicles and site equipment.

This is an ongoing position offering a genuine temp-to-perm opportunity. Suitable drivers will have the chance to demonstrate their abilities and potentially secure a permanent role.

You’ll work Monday to Friday, 40 hours per week, giving you a consistent working routine and weekends free.

The role pays £14.50 per hour, with 40 hours of work available each week. You’ll also benefit from up to 28 days’ annual leave accrued pro rata, ongoing work and the opportunity to secure permanent employment.
