Job summary

Pin Point Recruitment is seeking a reliable HGV 2 Driver for a client in Bridgewater TA6. You will work Monday to Friday, starting 06:15 and finishing around 14:45, with overtime available. Pay is £20.00 per hour. This is a temp to perm opportunity.

As part of the team you will collect recycling goods from homes, perform pre-trip checks, and adhere to safety and traffic regulations while delivering timely service. Strong navigation and communication skills are essential.

Qualifications

• HGV licence held with clean driving record.
• Experience driving heavy goods vehicles is preferred.
• Strong map-reading and GPS navigation abilities.
• Ability to manage time and meet schedules under varying conditions.

Responsibilities

• Operate lorries in a safe and efficient manner, ensuring compliance with all road regulations.
• Conduct pre-trip inspections of vehicles to ensure roadworthiness.
• Load and unload goods, securing cargo to prevent damage.
• Deliver products to designated locations following routes and timelines.
• Maintain accurate records of deliveries, mileage, fuel, and delivery documentation.
• Communicate with dispatchers and team about schedules and issues.
• Adhere to safety, vehicle maintenance, and customer service policies.

• Deliver products to designated locations, following scheduled routes and timelines.
• Maintain accurate records of deliveries, including logs of mileage, fuel consumption, and delivery documentation.
• Communicate effectively with dispatchers and other team members regarding delivery schedules and any issues that may arise during transport.
• Adhere to company policies regarding safety, vehicle maintenance, and customer service.

Skills

• Proven experience in commercial driving, with a valid HGV licence.
• Familiarity with flatbed operations is an advantage.
• Strong navigation skills and the ability to read maps or use GPS systems effectively.
• Excellent time management skills to ensure timely deliveries.
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
• Strong communication skills for effective interaction with clients and colleagues.
