Job summary

Gateway Learning Community in Thurrock is seeking two dedicated Cover Supervisors to join our primary schools. You will supervise whole classes during short-term teacher absences, following lesson instructions and ensuring pupils stay on task in a supportive learning environment.

The role is permanent, 37 hours per week, term-time only, with a salary range of £28,083 to £31,698 (pro rata £24,086 - £27,187). Closing date 8 September 2026.

Qualifications

• Experience in supervising classes or teaching support is desirable.
• Ability to manage a class and maintain a productive learning environment.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Supervise whole classes during short-term teacher absence.
• Follow lesson instructions provided by teaching staff.
• Maintain a positive and orderly learning environment.

We are seeking two dedicated and adaptable Cover Supervisors to join our primary schools. The primary focus of this role is to supervise whole classes during the short-term absence of teachers. You will give instructions for the lessons as provided by the teaching staff, ensuring pupils stay on task while maintaining a good, orderly, and purposeful learning environment.
