Job summary

Raby Estates in Tees Valley is seeking an experienced Multi Skilled Decorator to join the Estate Maintenance Team. The role focuses on painting and decorating across residential, commercial, agricultural and heritage buildings, with opportunities to apply broader trade skills to repairs and refurbishment.

You should have a minimum of 5 years’ painting and decorating experience, an NVQ in building, a full UK driving licence and a strong focus on health and safety, quality workmanship and working

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years’ painting and decorating experience on domestic/commercial properties.
• NVQ in building sector or equivalent qualification.
• Full UK driving licence and strong health & safety awareness.
• High attention to detail with pride in quality workmanship.
• Good communication and organisational skills.
• Honest, reliable and flexible with a can-do attitude.
• Experience with heritage buildings and traditional properties is a plus.
• Additional skills in joinery, tiling, plumbing, roofing or plastering are desirable.

Responsibilities

• Undertake internal and external painting and decorating across domestic, commercial and heritage buildings.
• Prepare surfaces using traditional and modern methods for high-quality finishes.
• Carry out filling, sanding, preparation and finishing to a high standard.
• Apply paints, stains, varnishes and specialist coatings as required.
• Diagnose defects and recommend remedial works.
• Work on modern and heritage properties, including listed buildings.
• General building maintenance, labouring and refurbishment works as needed.
• Deliver high-quality workmanship and manage workload effectively.
• Ensure health and safety compliance and collaborate with other trades.
