Job summary

Total Facilities Recruitment Limited is seeking a reliable Painter & Decorator / Basic Handyman to work on residential and commercial properties. You will perform painting, decorating, repairs and general maintenance tasks, ensuring high quality finishes and safe work practices.

Responsibilities include surface preparation, wallpapering, basic carpentry and minor plumbing, keeping work areas clean, and reporting maintenance issues. Full UK driving licence is desirable.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in painting, decorating or general maintenance.
• Good knowledge of painting and surface preparation techniques.
• Practical, hands-on approach with good attention to detail.
• Ability to carry out basic handyman and maintenance tasks.
• Reliable, punctual and well presented.
• Able to work independently and as part of a team.
• Good communication and customer service skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepare surfaces including filling, sanding, priming and cleaning.
• Carry out internal and external painting and decorating.
• Paint walls, ceilings, doors, frames, skirting boards and other surfaces.
• Apply wallpaper and other decorative finishes where required.
• Carry out basic repairs and general handyman tasks.
• Put up shelves, pictures, curtain poles and other fixtures.
• Carry out basic carpentry, tiling and minor plumbing repairs.
• Replace handles, locks, hinges, fixtures and fittings.
• Carry out minor repairs to walls, doors, floors and other property areas.
• Keep work areas clean, tidy and safe.
• Identify maintenance issues and report any work requiring a specialist tradesperson.
• Work professionally and respectfully in customers' homes or occupied properties.
• Follow health and safety procedures at all times.
