Job summary

Beamish Museum is seeking an enthusiastic Metal Fabricator Apprentice to join our Transport Engineering Team on a fixed-term basis until September 2030. You will pursue a Level 3 Advanced Apprenticeship as a Metal Fabricator through a four-year programme with New College Durham, combining college study with hands-on workshop training in our engineering facilities.

This programme will build the knowledge, confidence and technical skills needed for a career in fabrication and heritage engineering

Qualifications

• Be a resident of the City of Durham or immediate vicinity. Please see the attached map with the eligible area circled.
• Applicants must hold four GCSEs Grade 4/C (or equivalent) or above including Maths, English and a science to meet the entry requirements of the course at New College Durham.
