Job summary

ANT Recruitment is seeking a Heavy Haulage Mechanic in Redditch for a busy UK transport and engineering business. You will service and maintain heavy tractor units and specialist trailers to keep fleets available for demanding transport work.

Requirements include City & Guilds Heavy Vehicle Maintenance and Repair or NVQ/SVQ Level 3, experience with heavy vehicles, and a full UK driving licence; an HGV licence is desirable. The position offers 40 hours per week with overtime in a full-time role.

Qualifications

• Experience servicing and maintaining heavy vehicles.
• Full UK driving licence is required.
• Strong diagnostic and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Complete scheduled servicing and inspections on tractor units, trailers and equipment.
• Diagnose mechanical faults and carry out repairs and modifications.
• Follow manufacturer instructions, maintenance schedules and approved working methods.
• Escalate major defects to the workshop manager.
• Support breakdown repairs at project sites when required.
• Maintain an orderly workshop and assist with additional tasks.
