Job summary

Royal Mail is seeking Vehicle Technicians at Swindon Workshop to join the team and maintain a large fleet. The role offers a salary of £40,906 per year plus shift allowances, with the potential to reach £70,000 including overtime.

Working hours are full-time at 39.5 hours per week in rotating shifts; weekend work is required on a 1 in 3 basis. A welcome bonus of £1,500 may be applicable along with ongoing training and progression opportunities.

Qualifications

• Fully qualified to Level 3 in Heavy vehicle maintenance & repair.
• Proven experience on a wide range of vehicles (LCV/LGV).
• Full manual driving licence (LGV preferred with trailer experience).

Responsibilities

• Perform inspections, diagnosis, maintenance and repair procedures on vehicles, trailers and equipment.
• Work as part of a team to ensure high standards and efficiency.
• Utilise specialist tools and equipment to service light and heavy vehicles.

We are now recruiting Vehicle Technicians at Swindon Workshop with the potential to earn up to £70,000 including overtime.

Salary: £40,906 per annum, plus £90.21 per week shift allowance, when working the 12:30 - 21:00 shift, and a weekend £53.66 supplement for Saturday attendance shift.

Working Hours: Full time - 39.5 hours per week (rotating shift pattern; week 1: 06:00 - 14:30, week 2: Monday - Thursday 12:30 - 21:00 Friday 10:30 - 19:00). You will be required to work 1 in 3 Saturdays (with a weekday day off).

If your working background is mainly in the light vehicle sector Royal Mail will provide inhouse and external training to help develop your career in the HGV industry, including MOT inspection standards, LOLAR regulations training and vehicle diagnostics training

We are looking for professional vehicle technicians to perform a full range of inspections, diagnosis, maintenance and repair procedures on a range of vehicle, trailers and mechanical equipment operated by Royal Mail Group. As a team player who takes real pride in their work, you'll be prepared to go the extra mile to ensure the job is done effectively.

As an experienced technician you will have your own personal toolkit equipped to undertake routine maintenance and repair of light/heavy (delete as applicable) vehicles. Specialist tooling and equipment will be provided for common use by everyone within the workshop.

Successful candidates must be fully qualified to at least advanced level (Level 3 in Heavy vehicle maintenance & repair or an equivalent qualification) and have proven (via CV) experience of working on a wide range of vehicles for example LCV/LGV. We also require you to have a full manual driving licence (LGV preferred with trailer experience).
