Job summary

GTG Training – West Midlands, part of Arnold Clark Group, is seeking an experienced Heavy Vehicle Mechanic transitioning to a Technical Trainer. The role offers a salary of £35,000–£40,000 with bonus opportunities and a Monday–Friday schedule, with no weekend work.

You will train apprentices and delegates, deliver hands-on and classroom sessions, assess progress, and maintain records while supporting learners throughout their development. Full UK driving licence is required.

Qualifications

• Must have Level 3 Heavy Vehicle Maintenance & Repair or equivalent.
• Strong heavy vehicle maintenance experience.
• Electrical diagnostics knowledge.
• Good communication and customer-facing skills.

• Training apprentices and commercial delegates towards industry-recognised qualifications at GTG’s training centre.
• Delivering practical and classroom-based training.
• Assessing learner progress.

GTG Training is seeking an experienced Heavy Vehicle Mechanic to become a Technical Trainer.

What we’re looking for from you

• No teaching experience is required – we’ll provide full training and support to gain a teaching qualification
• Level 3 Heavy Vehicle Maintenance & Repair qualification (or equivalent)
• Strong heavy vehicle maintenance experience
• Electrical diagnostics and modern vehicle technology knowledge
• Strong communication skills and enthusiasm
• Full UK driving licence
