Job summary

GTG Training Limited is seeking an experienced Heavy Vehicle Mechanic to become a Technical Trainer. This is a move from workshop to a rewarding training role, helping develop the next generation of technicians.

The position offers Monday to Friday, 8am–4:30pm, with no weekend work required. Salary ranges from £35,000 to £40,000 with bonus opportunities and benefits including 33 days’ holiday and private healthcare.

Qualifications

• Strong communication and enthusiasm for teaching and mentoring.
• Level 3 Heavy Vehicle Maintenance & Repair qualification or equivalent.
• Strong heavy vehicle maintenance experience and knowledge of electrical diagnostics and modern vehicle technology.

Responsibilities

• Train apprentices and delegates to industry qualifications at GTG’s training centre.
• Deliver practical and classroom-based training.
• Assess learner progress and maintain training records.
• Support apprentices throughout their development.

What you’ll be doing

• Training apprentices and commercial delegates towards industry-recognised qualifications at GTG’s training centre.
• Delivering practical and classroom-based training.
• Assessing learner progress.
• Maintaining training records.
• Supporting apprentices throughout their development.

What we’re looking for from you

• No teaching experience is required – we’ll provide full training and support to gain a teaching qualification
• Level 3 Heavy Vehicle Maintenance & Repair qualification (or equivalent)
• Strong heavy vehicle maintenance experience
• Electrical diagnostics and modern vehicle technology knowledge
• Strong communication skills and enthusiasm
• Full UK driving licence
