Job summary

DVSA invites applications for aHeavy Vehicle Technical Officer to join the Vehicle Services leadership team. You will process technical applications to ensure full assessment and compliant documentation, and respond to technical queries from non-technical teams, operators and manufacturers.

You will work with technical standards, legal assessments and contribute to achieving DVSA's Key Targets and Business Plan.

Qualifications

• Experience assessing heavy vehicle statutory test applications and conversions.
• Ability to advise frontline teams and external partners on DVSA standards.
• Strong communication and collaborative leadership to drive continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

• Provide professional assessment of heavy vehicle statutory test applications for first tests and conversions.
• Assess applications of ECWVTA-approved vehicles with the relevant teams.
• Offer technical support to non-technical processing teams and advise operators, manufacturers and the public on DVSA services.
