Job summary

EMR Group is seeking a skilled Mobile Plant Fitter to join our maintenance team. This mobile role covers sites in the North-East, with a company van and tools provided. Standard hours are Monday-Friday with overtime available as required.

You will fault-find and repair hydraulic power packs, pumps, gearboxes, conveyors, and treatment machinery, performing both proactive and reactive maintenance while keeping CMMS records up to date. Welding of MIG/TIG methods will be required as needed.

Qualifications

• Completed a nationally recognised mechanical or fabrication apprenticeship (minimum Level 3).
• Proven background maintaining and repairing heavy plant and mobile machinery.
• Full UK driving licence; able to work independently and manage site responsibilities.

Responsibilities

• Monitor, fault-find, maintain, and repair equipment including hydraulic power packs, pumps, gearboxes, conveyors, and treatment machinery.
• Carry out proactive and reactive maintenance to prevent breakdowns.
• Maintain, monitor, and document all service, maintenance, and CMMS records.
• Identify, investigate, and report machine faults using Root Cause Analysis (RCA).
• Perform MIG, TIG, and other welding methods as required.
• Participate in ongoing training to stay compliant and aligned with industry standards.

What You Will Be Doing:

• Monitor, fault-find, maintain, and repair a wide range of equipment including hydraulic power packs, pumps, gearboxes, conveyor systems, and treatment machinery.
• Carry out proactive and reactive maintenance to prevent breakdowns and ensure smooth operational performance.
• Maintain, monitor, and document all service, maintenance, and CMMS records.
• Identify, investigate, and report machine faults and damages using Root Cause Analysis (RCA) to eliminate recurring issues
• Perform MIG, TIG, and other welding methods as required.
• Participate in ongoing training to stay compliant and aligned with industry standards.

About You:

• Completed a nationally recognised mechanical or fabrication apprenticeship (minimum Level 3), ideally higher-level or time-served.
• Proven background maintaining and repairing heavy plant and mobile machinery in engineering environments.
• Able to work independently, managing your own time, workload, and site responsibilities effectively.
• Committed to high standards, attention to detail, and safe working practices.
• Full UK driving licence (company van and tools provided)
