Job summary

Andrews Recruitment Group is seeking a Mobile Mechanical Fitter for a heavy industrial site based primarily at Clitheroe, Lancashire. The role covers maintaining and repairing fixed and mobile plant across multiple sites, fault finding, planned maintenance, and supporting shutdowns to keep production safe and reliable.

You will work with conveyors, crushers, pumps, gearboxes, motors and other plant equipment, applying welding and fabrication skills as needed, while recording activities in

Qualifications

• Recognised Mechanical Engineering apprenticeship or equivalent qualification.
• Strong mechanical fault-finding and diagnostic skills.
• Experience maintaining industrial plant and process equipment.
• Full UK driving licence.

Mobile Mechanical Fitter

Lancashire | Permanent Role | Heavy Industrial Environment

An established industrial business is seeking an experienced Mobile Mechanical Fitter to support the maintenance and reliability of their production site.

This is a hands‑on role suited to an engineer who enjoys fault finding, problem solving and working on large‑scale plant and equipment within a fast‑paced operational environment. You'll play a key role in ensuring production assets remain safe, reliable and available, whilst contributing to continuous improvement initiatives across the business.

The Role

Reporting into the Engineering Team, the Mobile Mechanical Fitter will be responsible for maintaining and repairing a wide range of fixed and mobile plant equipment within a heavy industrial environment, and across 4 sites but mainly housed at the Clitheroe site.

Key responsibilities include:

• Responding to mechanical breakdowns and restoring plant safely and efficiently

What We’re Looking For

Applications are welcomed from candidates with experience in:

Quarrying, Aggregates, Asphalt, Concrete, Recycling, Waste Processing, Heavy Manufacturing, Industrial Processing, Material Handling, Mining, Plant Hire, Heavy Engineering.

You will ideally possess:

• A recognised Mechanical Engineering apprenticeship or equivalent qualification
• Strong mechanical fault-finding and diagnostic skills
• Experience maintaining industrial plant and process equipment
• Knowledge of bearings, drives, pumps, motors and gearboxes
• Welding and fabrication experienceA proactive approach to maintenance and continuous improvement
• The ability to work independently and manage workload effectively
• A full UK driving licence
