Job summary

Interaction Recruitment is recruiting for a Mobile Plant Fitter in Kettering, Northamptonshire. The role involves servicing, maintaining, diagnosing and repairing a range of plant and material handling equipment at customer sites across the UK.

The ideal candidate will be mechanically and electrically capable with experience on mobile plant, strong hydraulic knowledge and a customer-focused approach. A full UK driving licence is essential, with clear progression and training opportunities

The Package

• £40,000–£45,000 basic salary

The Role

As a Mobile Plant Fitter, you will be responsible for servicing, maintaining, diagnosing and repairing a range of plant and material handling equipment at customer sites.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Diagnosing faults and carrying out servicing, maintenance and emergency breakdown repairs
• Working on plant, lifting and material handling equipment
• Carrying out mechanical and electrical fault finding and repairs
• Working withhydraulic and pneumatic systems
• Working on engines, batteries and associated plant systems
• Travelling to customer sites to carry out repairs and preventative maintenance
• Providing professional technical support and solutions to customers
• Working independently while also collaborating with colleagues and the wider engineering team
• Completing accurate service reports and documentation
• Ensuring equipment is repaired safely, efficiently and to a high standard

About You

The ideal candidate will have previous experience working within theplant, construction, agricultural, material handling or similar engineering sectors.

You will ideally have:

• Previous experience working onmobile plant machinery (excavators, dumpers, rollers, telehandlers etc.) – essential
• Strong hydraulic knowledge and experience
• Good mechanical and electrical fault-finding abilities
• Experience working with engines and batteries
• Experience servicing, maintaining and repairing mobile equipment
• The ability to diagnose faults and work independently
• A customer-focused and professional approach
• A full UK driving licence
• NVQ, City & Guilds or another relevant qualification in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering would be advantageous.
