Job summary

Alecto Recruitment Limited partners with an established engineering business in Coatbridge to recruit a hands-on Plant Fitter / Heavy Plant Engineer.

You will maintain and repair a varied range of heavy machinery at the depot and at customer sites across the UK, with some travel and occasional overnight stays. The role offers a supportive team and clear opportunities for long-term career development.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience maintaining and repairing heavy plant equipment.
• Strong fault finding on mechanical, hydraulic and electrical systems.
• Full UK driving licence; welding experience beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Carry out planned maintenance, servicing and repairs on heavy plant and machinery.
• Diagnose mechanical, hydraulic and electrical faults.
• Work on diesel engines, hydraulic systems, pumps and associated components.
• Attend customer sites across the UK, with occasional overnight stays.
• Read and interpret technical diagrams to aid fault finding.
• Maintain high safety, housekeeping and workmanship standards.
